THE ROLE
As a Sheltered Housing Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping individuals maintain their tenancies, develop life skills, and build resilience to lead independent lives.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering tailored housing-related support to customers across Basildon and the surrounding area
Supporting customers with maintaining tenancies and accessing essential services
Providing pre-tenancy advice and guidance to new tenants
Assisting customers in navigating welfare benefits and financial support
Encouraging independence by helping individuals build skills and confidence
Liaising with external agencies to ensure customers receive holistic support
Offering crisis intervention with professionalism and empathyTHE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar support role, ideally within housing, care, or community services.
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting individuals facing mental health, physical health, or employment challenges
Understands housing support needs, tenancy sustainment, and welfare benefits
Can communicate effectively and work independently across a patch-based service
Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle
Is willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS checkTHE CONTRACT
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week – 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday
Length of Contract: Permanent
Rate: £25,254.00 per year, plus benefits
