Job Purpose and Role:
As a Family Support Worker, you will:
Provide meaningful support to children, young people, adoptive families, and birth families.
Work directly with families, both individually and in groups, to promote development and resilience.
Prepare children for adoption, facilitating smooth transitions and conducting life story work.
Contribute to multi-agency assessments of adoption support needs.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Planning and facilitating individual and group work with children and adoptive families.
Collaborating with families and professionals to assess needs and develop support plans.
Undertaking life story work and compiling Life Story Books for children.
Planning and supervising post-adoption contact between adopted children and their birth families.
Delivering and evaluating specialist group work, support groups, and training.

Committed to maintaining accurate records and providing written reports, including court statements when necessary.
Knowledgeable about restorative practises and culturally sensitive approaches in family support.

Experience working with children and families in a support role is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
