About the Role: Lancashire County Council is currently recruiting experienced and motivated Children’s Social Workers to join our Duty and Assessment Team based in Fleetwood (Wyre CAPSS).
This is a critical frontline role, offering the opportunity to make a direct and immediate difference to the lives of children and families at the point of first contact with statutory services.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake timely assessments of children and families in need, ensuring effective safeguarding and early intervention.
Respond to new referrals and carry out initial assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
Work closely with children, families, and multi-agency partners to determine appropriate outcomes and next steps.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date case recordings and contribute to care planning where needed.
Manage a caseload in line with service expectations and statutory guidance.About You: We are looking for someone who is:
A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
Skilled in conducting high-quality, evidence-based assessments
Confident in decision-making in fast-paced environments
Experienced in child protection, Section 47s, and working in duty/front door teams
Able to build strong, respectful relationships with children and families
