The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team, plays a crucial role in safeguarding children and young people. Its primary duties revolve around the initial assessment and response to concerns about a child’s welfare or safety.
Duties :
The MASH team acts as the central point for receiving all referrals and concerns about children and young people who may be at risk of harm or in need of support. This includes referrals from professionals (e.g., police, health, education) and members of the public.
Based on the collated information, the social worker conducts an initial risk assessment to determine the level of concern and the most appropriate course of action. They aim to make timely and informed decisions to ensure children are kept safe. This often involves using a risk rating system
Social workers in the MASH team aim to ensure that vulnerable children receive the necessary support and services as soon as possible
Refer cases to a Child Protection and Assessment team for further social work assessment if there are serious concerns
Refer families to Early Help and Prevention services for lower-level support
Refer to a partner agency for a single agency response.
By collating and analysing information from various referrals, Social workers can help identify patterns and trends related to child exploitation, missing children, or other safeguarding issues, which can then inform strategic interventions.Qualifications and requirements:
Social work qualification
Registered with SWE
Hybrid wokring model 3 days in office 2 days from home
