    To work as part of a team to maintain the personal care of clients, respecting the dignity of the individual and promoting independence
    To ensure that care services are consistently provided to a high-quality standard
    To Assist with the care of the client
    Key responsibilities and accountabilities

    To work as part of an efficient team and to contribute to the smooth running of the Service
    To continue professional development through attending and contributing to internal or external training and development, meetings and supervisions
    To maintain confidentiality regarding all issues and information relating to clients.
    Functional

    To support client’s personal development regarding independence, acquiring skills, asserting rights and choices
    To actively engage with clients in conversation or other forms of communication of their choice
    To support clients personal care needs
    To administer and manage medication, after training
    To support client’s general physical needs including mobility, to assist in the use and care of equipment and aids
    To read and write reports and take part in training activities as directed
    Communication

    Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to accurately complete care plans and maintain up to date information
    Maintain good relationships and an empathetic and professional approach to clients and relatives
    Knowledge

    Experience of working in a care setting involving vulnerable people
    Well-developed time management skills with the ability to work under pressure
    Take a pro-active approach to consulting and involving others in the decision-making process as appropriate
    Knowledge of food hygiene preparation or a willingness to learn
    Other

    Must be able to get independently to the clients.
    Must follow the care routines to ensure that the client receives the correct care.
    Must be able to write and converse adequately in English.
    Drivers must have business insurance if using their cars to assist clients in accessing the community.
    Qualifications – NVQ level 2 in health and social care
